Flapper Costumes

In the 1920s a flapper symbolized the young women typically rejecting conventional female behavior. Flappers wearing their flapper costumes became a symbol of the many illegal clubs that sold alcohol during prohibition.

A flapper was the kind of woman who enjoyed herself. She was sexy and carefree, and knew how to have a good time without being foolish. She demanded to be active in the new popular culture of the 20’s and participate without restraints.

This beaded flapper
costume includes feather headpiece, tube dress and beaded halter overlay and cigarette holder.
