Fitness Pole Workouts Are the New and Exciting Way to Workout

You are not too fat, too old or too uncoordinated for working out on a fitness pole. And by using your fitness pole in the privacy of your home nobody is going to see you in case you make a fool out of yourself the first few times. Ok, no more excuses – it’s time to get fit so let’s make it fun, interesting and exciting.

However, for safety’s sake don’t go looking for a quality fitness pole at the local mall or outlet warehouse. Cheap dance poles won’t hold your weight, won’t let you do any advanced moves and might even fall over if you try to spin on them. Be careful of what fitness pole you purchase and always check the weight limits. For example, the Kendra Sport Pole will hold up to 240 pounds and it is easy to install.

Then check the installation instructions to see how the fitness pole is set-up. The most stable are poles that are attached at the ceiling followed by fitness poles on a stage or podium. Stay clear of spring loaded or tension poles. These would be similar to doing pole exercises on a spring loaded shower curtain rod. Get the picture? Not very pleasant is it?

Fitness pole workouts are fun! More fun then a treadmill or an elliptical machine plus they offer a full body workout. A good fitness pole workout can burn 400 to 500 calories. You will be working on strengthening your core muscles. Your stomach, upper body, arms, shoulders, legs and buttocks will all be put to the test in your workout. You will notice improved flexibility, stature and, probably, self esteem.

You will be using your bodyweight as the resistance to tone and strengthen your muscles. Plus all of the moving and dancing around the fitness pole means you will get a great aerobic workout as well. When you have mastered your first pole aerobics DVD your body will be better defined, you’ll feel better about yourself and maybe for the first time in your life you’ll think you can dance. Not a shabby end result for having all of that fun getting there.

Starting a fitness pole routine is just like starting any other exercise program, you won’t be perfect at it the first time. So, don’t give up.

I was 50 years old and overweight before I attempted my first ab exercise. It didn’t go very well. I was glad I was at home at the time or I would have been so embarrassed had I been in a gym.

But 3 months later I was asking myself “what’s next?” I had conquered my first ab routine and was searching for something more difficult.

Understand it might take you 3 to 6 months to become comfortable with your first fitness pole routine. Just keep at it and before you know it you’ll be performing for your guy. He’s been waiting from day 1 for this, trust me I know.

If you are in a dull, dreary, boring routine spending hours a week on your treadmill or elliptical machine maybe it’s time to try a fun and exciting fitness pole exercise routine. And if you haven’t started any exercise program yet a fitness pole might be the place to start.

Keeping weight off is not very hard if you have a very good fitness schedule, but as DrFlinton said here, what can we do about "super people"? They surely can't exercise and it would be nice if they had a way of doing that and becoming normal again.

Fitness is very good for health, but you do have a problem: over-sized people, and I mean people that do have 40 to 100 kilograms over their normal weight can't start doing a fitness session right away. They first need to go through a diet and burn some fat because not doing so and exercising could kill them because of the high blood pressure.
